My 100 Favorite Movies (Give or take)

A couple weeks ago I got a sudden desire to form a list of my personal Top 100 films.  Then I did that.  I don’t think it was worth the trouble.  But the list is here for your perusal, feel free to let me know in the comments what films I’m a complete idiot for omitting, or you could also be a decent person for once… jerk.  Oh, and one more note, this is not a list of what I think are the 100 best films, these are my 100 favorite films, so shut up already (this intro was mean-spirited).

I love that you have Lars and the Real Girl = love that movie! Very good list. Do you own most of these?

My dear nephew…for two people who hardly know each other, we sure have similar tastes in movies. Thrilled that The Big Lebowski made #10…hooray for the dude!! Where is ‘The Big Chill’? It would appall you but I would have to add ‘The Way We Were’…for all it’s schmaltz, I still love. Saw it only a few months ago and blubbed all the way through it!! Am I seeing you in November?

Also…please see Super 8 and give me a review. It looks pretty good in the trailers and I love JJ Abrahms.

    1. Shut up, Kevin.

    2. I don’t even own half of these.

    3. I’m planning on being there in November.

    4. Don’t you worry.

Wow! Good taste! I’m especially impressed with how many you picked that are “Pre-Kyle” — you know — produced before 1985!

BTW — our best 100 movie list universes overlap by about a dozen…I’m SURE you MEANT to include The Seven Samurai, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Game, Galaxy Quest, The Return of the King, and Kick Ass?

I’m pretty sure The Seven Samurai was considered as a candidate, but I couldn’t make it fit, Rashomon’s there so Kurosawa is represented.

I honestly haven’t seen To Kill A Mockingbird in a very long time, so I can’t say for sure where it would land.

I like The Game and Galaxy Quest as much as the next guy, but they’re not in my top 100.

I absolutely did not forget Kick Ass.
