The full moon on Saturday night (January 10th) will be the biggest and the brightest of 2009. As most of you know the moon does not orbit around the earth in a perfect circle…it's elliptical (oblong). As it passes by the earth tonight, it will be the closest it will get all year. Here's a great article from space.com with all the details.
Enjoy the cool, moonlit night!
